JEAN H. NEWTON
With a background in publishing and educational travel, Jean Newton founded Jean Newton Public Relations (JNPR) in 1984 to offer comprehensive, cost-effective public relations services to corporations, businesses and non-profit organizations.
Newton specializes in developing strategic integrated communication plans, public information campaigns, corporate identity building, special events and media relations and works with an eclectic clientele in diverse areas including senior living, real estate, finance, entertainment, health care, education and recycling and solid waste management.
With more than 25 years experience in the PR business, Newton has launched a variety of public education and awareness campaigns for many different recycling programs in communities in California, Oregon and Washington. Newton developed the collateral and handled the public relations for the international Rotary AIDS Project and the Peabody award-winning film “The Los Altos Story.” She handled the advertising, publicity and event planning for Silicon Valley Business & Leadership Conference featuring national and international speakers including former President George Bush, Colin Powell, Gerald Ford, Mario Cuomo, Elizabeth Dole, Jack Kemp and Henry Kissinger. As a professional writer, Newton has received numerous bylines for published articles and photos on a variety of topics including real estate and senior living.
An active community volunteer, Newton is a member and former director of the Rotary Club of Los Altos and has served on the Board of Directors for the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce, Los Altos Community Foundation, Rotary AIDS Project, Community Health Awareness Council and is an Ambassador for the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce. She is also a licensed Realtor® with Prochnow Realtors, Inc. in Los Altos and is a member of Silicon Valley Association of Realtors.
A graduate of San Jose State University, Newton holds a Certificate in Marketing Communications and is designated a Certified Marketing Professional (CMP) in Senior Housing.
Newton was selected as Los Altos Business Leader of the Year in 2003 for community service and commitment to business.
Graphic artist John Verducci has worked with Jean Newton Public Relations since 1989 when he designed the logo for the Rotary AIDS Project and the collateral for the film, "The Los Altos Story". Since then, he has created and designed logos, advertisements, web sites and collateral including brochures, direct mail pieces, and annual reports for a variety of Jean Newton Public Relations clients in the areas of high tech, recycling & solid waste management, healthcare, real estate and education and senior living.
A 1985 graduate of Stanford University with a degree in Product Design, Verducci provides creative design and production solutions for a wide range of companies including local businesses and Fortune 500 companies.
With a philosophy that provides hands-on attention and personalized service for our clients, JNPR works with a variety of experts and specialists on an outsource or part-time basis to provide the precise skills required for specific needs.
